Both are lithium iron phosphate, both are IP66 rated for an outside wall, both run from the mySigen app and both can switch the house to battery in a power cut with no interruption. The difference is how far you expect to grow.
The five in one stack: solar inverter, battery, battery converter, energy manager and an optional DC car charger in one modular tower. Battery modules of 6 or 9 kWh stack six deep to 54 kWh on one controller, and you add them later without a new inverter.
The newer all in one for a family starting with solar and storage. It puts the energy manager, solar inverter, battery and the backup module into one compact unit, so a separate gateway is not needed for whole home backup. Quiet, under 30 dB, with four MPPTs for complicated roofs.
Both can take an existing array. Neo is built to connect to existing solar, and SigenStor’s controller can take your strings directly or sit alongside your inverter. We check at survey which route keeps more of what your panels make.
| Best for | SigenStor: a house that will add an EV, a heat pump or more storage later. Neo: a family starting with solar and a battery who wants backup in one tidy unit |
|---|---|
| Battery | SigenStor: 6 kWh (5.84 usable) or 9 kWh (8.76 usable) modules, up to 6 per controller, 54 kWh. Neo: stackable modules with an energy optimiser that lets old and new packs run together |
| Backup | SigenStor: with the Sigen Gateway, 0 ms switchover. Neo: backup module built in, 0 ms on the load side |
| Solar input | SigenStor: hybrid controller, single phase 3 to 12 kW, up to 4 MPPTs, 97.6% efficiency. Neo: 4 MPPTs |
| Car charging | SigenStor: optional 25 kW bidirectional DC module in the stack. Neo: pairs with the Sigen EV AC Charger |
| Enclosure | IP66 on both; SigenStor rated minus 20 to plus 60 degrees C |
| Warranty | SigenStor: 10 years to 70% capacity, extendable to 15; gateway 5 years. Neo: confirmed on your quote |

A battery earns its keep between the panels going quiet and bedtime, and overnight on a cheap tariff. We start from your bills and your half hourly usage where you have it.
One or two 9 kWh modules usually cover the evening peak and a cheap overnight top up for a family of four.
Start smaller and leave room to stack. SigenStor adds modules without replacing the controller, and Neo can mix old and new packs.
Ask for backup at survey. Neo has it built in; SigenStor needs the Sigen Gateway. We set a reserve so the battery keeps something back for an outage.
Sigenergy was founded in 2022 by a team from Huawei’s solar business and is listed in Hong Kong. Its systems use lithium iron phosphate cells, the most thermally stable chemistry in home storage, with five layers of battery protection and cell level monitoring. We are registered Sigenergy installers, and it is the battery range we lead with.
Yes. SigenStor modules stack under the same controller to 54 kWh, and the DC to DC optimiser in each pack lets new modules run alongside older ones. Adding a module is a short visit, not a rebuild.
Yes with the right parts. SigenStor Neo has the backup module built in. SigenStor needs the Sigen Gateway. Without a backup device any grid tied battery shuts down with the grid, as the regulations require.
Yes. The mySigen app reads your tariff and the weather forecast and decides when to charge from the grid, hold, and discharge.
It depends on the model, the number of modules and whether backup and car charging are included, so we do not publish one price. Our cost guide gives indicative ranges for whole systems, and the survey gives you an itemised figure.
Yes. We also fit Tesla Powerwall 3, Fox ESS and Duracell Energy, and we will say if one of those suits your house better.
